The ideas behind the formation of SOS Global were instigated in mid 2007 because of the Chair Person, Dawn Dines’s experiences within Social Services and lead to its formation in April 2008
She said, “I know that there is a real need for my initiatives and that there is a gap in the market. I am a very confident person and I know that I can instill the vitality of both myself and the project into others making them stronger and more self-assured and as such it will be easier for them to tackle their own problems.
My interactive initiatives aim to create experiences for people where they are able to take control of their health, to strengthen personal resolve, and to respond in positive ways to that fundamental purpose of life, reducing the risks to themselves or others.
I believe that the development of my project will create a pro-active rather than a reactive response to basic health needs initially addressing the relationship of alcohol and unsafe sex and then encompassing a wide range of strategies, designed to relate to young peoples personal experiences at base level.
I intend to directly influence young people, into understanding that through basic methods and constructive decision-making, they can directly influence their own outcomes for the better. I hope to make the world a better place by changing the mind-set of the younger generation thereby making it a happier & healthier, more educated place to live in.”

SOS Global unique methods:
1. Reach young people at base level as a proactive rather than a reactive response
2. Provide a wide range of subject matter specifically designed for real life situations rather than test book scenarios, allowing students to identify, discuss and relate from personal experiences.
3. Have been adapted for socially excluded groups and ethnic minorities
4. Can be specifically targeted at high incidence areas e.g. where Chlamydia or unwanted pregnancy rates are above average
5. Provide statistical data on trend sets, success rates & student and community thoughts and responses.
6. Provide cognitive behavioural reports for educational establishments, statutory bodies and businesses.
